About Us

Our Mission is to support programs that foster literacy and support the power of reading.

The Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin County was incorporated in 1990 as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization in response to the specific need to fully fund the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library’s Adult Literacy program. The Foundation has since expanded to support family and community literacy programs and assist with sustaining the Library’s book budget. The purpose of the Library & Literacy Foundation is to provide financial support and increase public awareness of Library programs and needs.
